Police investigate father and daughter deaths in Singur, West Bengal

A sense of shock enveloped Singur, West Bengal, following the mysterious deaths of a father and daughter, leading to the arrest of the husband of the elder daughter on suspicion of involvement in the incident. Initially believed to be a result of a family dispute, the tragic deaths of 60-year-old Vishnudayal Sahu and his 30-year-old daughter Vineeta have left the community in disbelief. The incident unfolded on Tuesday morning when Vineeta's friend, Pritam, received a distressing call from Vineeta's sister, prompting him to rush to the scene where he discovered both victims lying in a pool of blood at their residence on the Vaidyabati-Tarakeshwar road passing through Daluigacha Hotel Dhar area under Singur police station of Hooghly.

The police, while initially suspecting the son-in-law's involvement in the deaths, are conducting a thorough investigation and have not ruled out any aspect of the case. Bishnudayal Sahu's house served as the shared residence for his two daughters, one of whom is married and lives with her husband on the premises. The younger daughter, Vineeta, also resided in the household. Following the discovery of the bodies, the police swiftly apprehended Vineeta's son-in-law, Pintu Mandal, for further questioning, as they seek to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and bring clarity to the grieving family and community.
